Ychaï Gassenbauer is an animator, motion designer, video artist based in Brussels.
With a varied academic background, from musicology to physical theater and programming, his artistic practice deals with the question of identity and faith through new technologies and interactivity.
He regularly collaborates with other artists as a video maker and editor (Vincent Messens, Vermeir & Heiremans, Samson Kambalu). He directs animation clips for Johnny Haway (presented at the 2018 Paris Art Fair) and Odil (programmed in the web-series Mon Œil of the Centre Pompidou). Recently, he animated Babines by Emilie Praneuf, which was eligible for the Magritte du cinéma 2020.
